Beasts of Bowdoin
June 25th- June 29th, 9:00am-3:00pm

Cost: $265 (Limit 20)
In this sculpture workshop, campers will explore working three-dimensionally to create forms inspired by creatures wild and mythological. Paper-mache, self-hardening clay, and recycled materials will help form our beasts. A visit to the Perry MacMillan Arctic Museum on campus will guide our animal designs. Friends and family are invited to a reception on the last day of camp.
Imagination Station: Pictures & Prose
July 9th- July 13th, 9:00am-3:00pm

Ever wonder what a piece of art is trying to say? In this workshop, campers will consider the connections between words and images, poetry and pictures, stories and illustrations. We’ll create posters, small books, narrative illustrations and more using pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, and a number of exciting mixed media materials. A trip to Bowdoin’s Art Museum will spark our imaginations and generate ideas to help us create art that expresses how we see the world with our own characters, stories, myths and drawings. The week will culminate in an art show open to family and friends on the last day.
Illustrator's Paintbox

With picture books at the heart of our explorations, we will delve into the materials and techniques that illustrators use when creating artwork for books. After investigating the creative process of various Maine illustrators, campers will create original artwork inspired by newfound designs and techniques. Drawing, painting, and printmaking will all be explored. Please join us on the last day of camp for an artists' reception.
